Literature Text

It is always based on her looks
It is always based on the numbers on the scale
Never by her mind, thoughts, or education
Never by her accomplishments
But always by her face, her body
No matter how the times change
No matter how strong women become
Only a pretty face will matter
Only a thin body will make an impression
Oh how women are obsessed with beauty
Obsessed with having the best appearance
They soon begin to base their on worth by the numbers on the scale
How they look in the mirror and only see what they think is ugly
How the world has tricked women into hating themselves
They are more concerned with physical appearance
Than how to carry themselves with confidence
Now women base their worth on their faces and bodies
Calling themselves unworthy of many things if they assume they are ugly or chubby
Now they will never know their true worth as a woman
Never know their compassion makes them beautiful
Never understand beauty doesn't define their person as a whole
That beauty in simple words:
It is held in the eyes of the beholder

sadly but this is true :/

"it is held in the eyes of the beholder" my parents always told me that and they still tell me that, and I thank them for that because that made me who I am today. that can walk into school looking like crap and not care what others think. i'm that girl if asked would willingly shot out how mush I weigh. i'm not ashamed of who I am

but that got off track this is a great poem that tells a truth that everyone seems to accept and doesn't care if it changes
